John Deere Cab Tractor

So you’ve decided to purchase a John Deere mid-size utility tractor. Congratulations! You are going to love the power and versatility these machines bring to your farm, ranch or operation. From hay baling and roadside mowing to other chores like moving dirt, the mid-size utility tractors are built to get things done. But have you considered whether you want a cab or open-station tractor? Here are the top three reasons our Shoppa’s experts say a cab is worth the extra investment.

A/C and Heat

It’s Texas, y’all. That means we’ve got Friday Night Lights, Whataburger, Blue Bell…and a reputation for being the fourth-hottest state in the nation. However, you won’t feel the heat in the seat of one of our John Deere cab tractors! Crank up the air conditioning, turn on the radio and you can work through the dog days of summer feeling cool and comfortable. (And on the gloriously rare Texas day where there’s a chill in the air, you can also take your jacket off and crank up the heat!)

It’s Allergy-Friendly

It kind of goes without saying, but if pollen, dust, grass, ragweed or any other seasonal allergies wreak havoc on your system, a cab is where it’s at. John Deere’s “unibody” cab design ensures that dust and debris don’t make it inside – making for a cleaner interior (even during shredding or hay baling!). As an added plus, the fully-isolated cab also gets rid of common squeaks and vibrations, so you have a significantly quieter working environment. Finally, the windows provide a full line-of-sight out the front and back, making implement hookup a breeze, too.

No Need to Worry about Bees or Ground Hornets

In all honesty, our Shoppa’s team thinks this might be the number one reason for choosing a cab tractor here in Texas. If you’ve ever encountered a nest of ground hornets while driving an open-station tractor, you won’t soon forget it…those little guys are aggressive! Unlike bees, they have the capacity to sting multiple times in an effort to defend their nest. Open station: Good luck. Cab tractor: No big deal!
