John Deere Compact Tractors: An Overview of the 1-4 Series

If you’ve been thinking about getting a John Deere compact tractor but aren’t sure where to start, here’s a quick overview to get you pointed in the right direction. Known for their versatility, easy operation and ability to get things done, John Deere’s compact tractors offer dependable, economical power when you need it most. (And the best part? They’re also on special this month here at Shoppa’s!)

1 Series Sub-Compact Tractors

Small but mighty: That’s what you'll find with the 1023E and 1025R tractors. With 23 and 25 horsepower respectively, the 1 series sub-compact tractors have a bunch of attachment options and really shine when you want to tackle a mowing or brush-clearing project. The seat is adjustable so you’re always sitting comfortable and the two-pedal, forward/reverse TwinTouch™ hydrostatic transmission system is a breeze to use – if you can drive a car, you can drive a tractor! Click here to research John Deere’s 1 series sub-compact tractors.

 2 Series Compact Tractors

John Deere’s 2 series tractors are tough, small farm/property machines known as the “ultimate mini-landscapers.” With horsepower options ranging from 25-38hp, you can pick the speed and capacity you need to make the most of your land (or maintain park paths or dig trenches or clear brush or…just about anything else!). These tractors also sport a comfortable suspension seat and the two-pedal, forward/reverse TwinTouch™ system (left pedal = forward/right pedal = backward). Click here to learn more about the 2 series compact tractors.

3 Series Compact Tractors

The 3 series compact tractors are favorites for a reason! You’ve got three different lines to choose from in this series: The 3Ds, 3Es and 3Rs. The 3D tractors are the smallest of the series, so they can go places the bigger tractors can’t. That doesn’t mean they lack power, though: The 3Ds are fabulous when it comes to moving heavy loads (4,409 lbs. of towing capacity!). The 3Es are another economical, versatile option that are built with digging projects in mind. When combined with its appropriate loader attachment, you’re looking at 1,186 lbs. of lift capacity – perfect for moving dirt, rocks or any other farm chores on your to-do list. The 3Rs take things up a notch with available cab and PowrReverser™ technology options. (PowrReverser™ means you can seamlessly shift from forward to reverse with just the flip of a lever – it makes loader work a breeze!)
